HYPERTENSION

 Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a condition in which the force of blood against the walls of the arteries is consistently too high. This can cause damage to the arteries and lead to a range of health problems, including heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure.

An ideal blood pressure is considered to be between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg. High blood pressure is considered to be 140/90mmHg or higher. 

Causes of Hypertension 

There are a number of factors that can contribute to hypertension, some of which includes;

1. Diet

2. Weight

3. Genetic factors 

4. Diabetes 

5. Kidney Disease 

Symptoms of hypertension may include;

1. Headaches 

2. Dizziness 

3. Blurred vision 

Sometimes many individuals with hypertension may not experience any symptoms at all.

If left untreated, hypertension can lead to a range of serious complications, including heart attack, stroke, and heart failure.

Here are a few proven ways to prevent Hypertension;

1. maintain a healthy diet

2. Exercise regularly 

3. limit alcohol and caffeine consumption and manage stress

In addition, regular blood pressure screenings are important for early detection and treatment.
